Your first round
- Start with Easy and explore cards in a consistent order.
- Name the first symbol and its position mentally, such as ‘diamond, top-left’.
- If you know its mate, select that location. Otherwise reveal an unseen card and remember both positions.
- When a mismatch closes, take a moment to recall the two symbols before starting another turn.
Worked example
Use a mismatch later
You reveal a diamond in row 1, column 2 and a circle in row 2, column 3. They turn back. When a diamond appears on a later turn, choose row 1, column 2 rather than exploring a new card.
Build your strategy
- Use stable landmarks such as corners and row ends for the first few cards.
- Take a known pair as soon as you can; clearing it reduces the number of locations still competing for attention.
- On Hard, read the positions before the second reveal so the short display time can be spent on the symbol.
Common mistakes
- Remembering that a symbol appeared but not which of two nearby positions contained it.
- Flipping rapidly enough to overwrite your memory of the previous mismatch.
Try this next
Complete two Easy rounds and compare turns, not just time. Increase the pair count once most repeated symbols lead to a known location.
